Füzér Castle

The upper castle of Füzér is one of the earliest stone castles in the country; the Holy Crown of Hungary was even hidden here after the Battle of Mohács. Built on a volcanic cone, this spectacularly restored fortress offers the most dramatic panoramic view of the Zemplén Mountains — its tower emerging from the mist at sunrise makes for a truly romantic and picturesque photo opportunity.
